USC says to build facility to produce propulsion systems in 2019
MOSCOW, Jan 17 (PRIME) -- Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) plans to build a plant OSK-Dvizheniye (USC-Propulsion) in 2019 to produce propulsion systems for ships, a representative of USC told PRIME late on Wednesday.
“In 2019, USC wants to create a center of product specialization OSK-Dvizheniye in partnership with producers and developers of diesel and electric engines. The center…will develop, produce, service, and upgrade propulsive systems for all projects implemented by USC group,” the company said.
The company will create OSK-Dvizheniye basing on the Zvyozdochka shipyard, and its propulsion systems will replace imports, completely covering Russia’s demand, USC said.
